Today I opened my mailbox and found this!!!
Jillian from Norfolk Island (Ext. Terr. of Australia!) sent it to me, quite a trip!
Norfolk Island is a small island in the Pacific Ocean located between Australia, New Zealand and New Caladonia. The island is part of the Commonwealth of Australia, but it enjoys a large degree of self governance. Together with two neighbouring islands, it forms one of Australia's external territories.
This card shows the violent power of Mount Ruapehu in eruption. It creates a magnificent spectacle against the night sky. It looks so dramatic.... Ruapehu is one of the most active volcanoes in the world and the largest active volcano of New Zealand!
